Mega Raids are easy to identify in the Map View or Nearby screen. Just look for a Mega icon :
Join a Mega Raid Battle as you normally would any other Raid and tap to defeat the Mega Raid Boss.
Note that, once you’ve defeated the Mega Pokémon, it will de-Mega Evolve for the Raid Boss Encounter.
There are three tiers of Mega Raids:
Мегарейды
Mega Legendary Raids
Super Mega Raids
While Mega Raids feature powered-up Mega Pokémon, Mega Legendary Raids and Super Mega Raids will feature even more powerful Mega Pokémon.
What are Mega Legendary Raids?
Mega Legendary Pokémon are very powerful, so Mega Legendary Raids are more difficult than a standard Raid Battle or even a Mega Raid Battle. To improve your chances of defeating the Mega Legendary Raid Boss, try Mega Evolving a Pokémon in your Raid Party, inviting Friends to join you in the Mega Legendary Raid, or both
What are Super Mega Raids?
Super Mega Raids are the most challenging Mega Raids. While most of the Raid Battle will be similar to Mega Raids or Mega Legendary Raids, at a certain point during the Raid Battle, the Mega Pokémon will become enraged.
An enraged Mega Pokémon will receive a number of shields that immensely reduce the amount of damage it takes from Attacks while these shields are active. Shields can be broken by using a Charged Attack from a Mega Pokémon during the Raid. Your Mega Pokémon will automatically be sent into battle and have its Charged Attack available to use once the Mega Raid Pokémon becomes enraged.
Trainer Tip: Each Trainer in the Super Mega Raid Battle can only break 1 shield, no matter how many times their Mega Pokémon uses a Charged Attack. It is highly recommended to challenge a Super Mega Raid with the suggested number of Trainers that all have a Mega Pokémon in their party.
Please note: Trainers that do not have a Mega Pokémon in their party will not be able to tap the Ready button in the raid lobby until their Battle Party includes a Mega Evolved Pokémon. They can still join a Super Mega Raid without a Mega Pokémon by waiting out the raid lobby timer, but it is highly recommended that they include a Mega Pokémon in their party.
Pokémon that have undergone Primal Reversion will not count as a Mega Pokémon and will be unable to break shields.
