In order to play Pikmin Bloom, you must grant access to the necessary information. This support page describes what each permission entails.
Allow access to your location (required)
Pikmin Bloom is a game where you walk with Pikmin in the real world and record memories. This permission is required in order for the app to reflect the location data stored on your device.
For iOS, please follow the steps below to allow access to location information:
- Device's Location Services: Go to OS "Settings"→"Privacy & Security" → Turn on "Location Services".
- App's Location Settings: Go to OS "Settings"→ "Apps" → "Pikmin Bloom" → "Location" → Select "Always" (Recommended).
Please Note: App’s location setting item would not be available unless you have turned on Location Services.
For Android, please follow the steps below to allow access to location information:
- Device's Location Settings: Go to OS "Settings"→"Location" → Turn on "Use location".
- App's Location Settings: Go to OS "Settings" → "Apps" → "Pikmin Bloom" → "Permissions" → "Location" → Select "Allow all the time" (Recommended).
Please Note: The setup process may vary depending on the Android model.
Important: Without the "Always"/"Allow all the time" permission for location access (permission to access location in the background), the app will not reflect your location when it is not running, and some in-app features will be restricted.
Allow access to your step data (required)
This permission is required for Pikmin Bloom to reflect the step count data stored on the device. The data to be read are as follows.
For iOS, please follow the steps below to allow access to step data:
- Health App’s Motion Settings: Go to OS "Settings" → "Privacy & Security" → "Motion & Fitness" → Turn on "Health" and "Pikmin Bloom".
- App's Steps Settings: Go to OS "Settings" → "Privacy & Security" → "Health" → "Pikmin Bloom" → Turn on "Steps".
For Android, please follow the steps below to allow access to step data:
Go to OS "Settings" → "Apps" →"Pikmin Bloom" → "Permissions" → "Physical activity" → Select "Allow".
