RSVP and check-in to official event Meetups or Meetups hosted by Community Ambassadors and other select partners to earn special Meetup Check-in Timed Research in Pokémon GO!

To participate, first RSVP for an event by tapping on the “Join Meetup” icon in the invite. Invites with the “Rewards” icon are events that will offer the Meetup Check-in Timed Research for participating.

At least 15 minutes before the Meetup starts, head to the Meetup location and tap “Check In” on the Meetup.

When you log into the Pokémon GO app, you will receive an in-app notification on the top part of your map screen to indicate that you are eligible to receive Meetup Check-in Timed Research. To start your Timed Research, go to your Pokémon GO app and tap on Rhi on the bottom right hand side of your screen. 

You will be prompted to choose a path for Timed Research. Whatever path you choose determines what theme the Timed Research will have. The Timed Research needs to be completed within 8 hours. Once you finish the Timed Research, you’ll continue to get Party Play bonuses and field research for the remainder of the 8 hours. You can only get one Meetup Check-in Timed Research per day.
