Hunting Horn styles are as follows:
Style 1 - Fleeting Melody
Whenever a Melody Effect is activated, its effect is also shared with other hunters. In addition, Fleeting Melody further buffs both you and your fellow hunters, making this a style that excels at supporting the team through Melody Effects.
Main actions of the Fleeting Melody style:
Melody
Activated Melody Effects are immediately shared with other hunters.
Activating them also fills the Fleeting Melody gauge.
Fleeting Melody
When the Fleeting Melody gauge is filled to its maximum, it activates, and buffs both you and other hunters for 20 seconds.
※The effect duration does not decrease while an Special Skill is active.
Fleeting Melody gauge gain by melody is as follows:
・Small gauge gain: (Blue, Blue), (Red, Red)
・Large gauge gain: The third melody unique to each weapon, such as (Blue, Red, Blue) or (Red, Blue, Blue, Red).
Effects on yourself:
・Increases the speed of all your attacks. Resonance Strike gains an additional attack speed increase.
・Increases the damage of all your attacks. Resonance Strike gains an additional damage increase.
Effects on other hunters:
・Increases the speed of all your attacks.
Resonance Strike
Long Press ▶︎ Flick Up or the 5th tap of the combo will activate Resonance Strike.
Resonance Strike deals damage by exploding when making contact with the monster.
※After it hits, you can tap the screen to trigger the explosion sooner.
If you dodge after landing Resonance Strike on a monster, the explosion will not occur.
While Fleeting Melody is active, the explosion deals increased damage. However, triggering the explosion reduces Fleeting Melody's remaining duration by 5 seconds.
Hilt Stab
Long Press ▶︎ Flick Down combo is changed to Hilt Stab which builds up one Red Note.
Tips:
・It is important to always keep Melodies in mind while fighting and frequently trigger Fleeting Melodies. The Hilt Stab allows you to quickly build up Red Notes with a short, fast motion.
・By using Resonance Strike right before Fleeting Melody expires, you can avoid wasting any remaining duration while still dealing boosted explosion damage.
Style 2 - Shockwave
An aggressive combat style that enhances attacks with Shockwave and Chord, specializing in relentless follow-up attacks.
Main actions of the Schockwave style are:
Melody
Since Echo Attacks are replaced with Shockwaves, the only way this style can grant the currently active Melody effect to other Hunters is by using an Special Skill.
Follow-up attacks
Performing a Shockwave or Chord grants a temporary state that causes follow-up attacks to trigger when you attack.
While this state is active, follow-up attacks are triggered whenever an attack performed directly with the Hunting Horn, including Special Skills, hits a monster.
※Attacks caused by the sound waves from the 3rd hit of the tap combo (Melodic Slap), as well as the melody effect Sonic Wave, are exceptions and will trigger follow-up attacks.
※Follow-up attacks triggered by Special Skills are not affected by the Special Boost skill.
The skill "Blunt Force" applies to follow-up attacks.
The number of follow-up attacks depends on the number of Melody effects currently active.
・0 active Melody effects: No follow-up attacks
・1 active Melody effect: 1 follow-up attack
・2 active Melody effects: 2 follow-up attacks
・3 active Melody effects: 3 follow-up attacks
Schockwave
Long Press ▶︎ Flick Up is changed to Shockwave.
Leap into the air while attacking, then unleash follow-up attacks upon landing equal to the number of Notes currently stored.
When activated, it extends the duration of all currently active Melody effects by 3 seconds and grants a temporary state that causes your attacks to trigger follow-up attacks.
Chord
The third hit of the Tap Combo performed after a Long Press and Hold changes to Chord, unleashing follow-up attacks equal to the number of Notes currently stored.
When activated, it extends the duration of all currently active Melody effects by 3 seconds and grants a temporary state that causes your attacks to trigger follow-up attacks.
Melodic Slap
The second and third hits of the Tap Combo are changed to Melodic Slap.
Tips:
・Maintaining the state that enables follow-up attacks and increasing your number of hits is key. Since this state is preserved while a Special Skill is active, it is effective to use a Special Skill just before the effect expires.
・Shockwave causes you to leap into the air upon activation, allowing you to attack while evading monster attacks.
・Melodic Slap is easy to activate and delivers a high number of hits, making it well-suited for the follow-up attack state. It also helps charge two Blue Notes and makes it easier to trigger Melody effects, so use it actively.
