A new feature in Monster Hunter Now - exploration bases - is currently under development. Please check the following article for more details.

Notes:

  • For more details regarding the period of the beta test, limited hunter medals or rewards from the monster outbreaks, please check this page.

  • At least HR 11 is required to access the exploration bases.

  • The app needs to be updated to at least v101 for the exploration bases to become available.

  • When the beta test is completed, all data related to exploration bases will be deleted and not transferred over to the official release. This includes Exploration Base state, exploration reports history, obtained Exploration Emblems (including the ones obtainable for a few weeks after the beta test), and base reputation. Rest assured, the rewards obtained will not be deleted.

  • The number of exploration reports required for the exploration base development is planned to be balanced in the official release based on the data from the beta test. Although it might feel difficult to reach the highest level, we ask for your understanding.

  • Make sure to follow Niantic Player Guidelines, be aware of your surroundings and try not to disturb other people around you, including other hunters and residents of the area.

  • It is possible some exploration bases will be removed during the period of testing. In that case, please take part in another exploration base in your vicinity.

  • Every information this page contains is under development. The content and period of the test might be subject to changes or cancellation if necessary.

  • The official release time and details of exploration bases are yet to be determined. This feature may not be released in the same state as during the beta test. Depending on the results of the test, specifications might be changed.

Submitting reports and developing the Exploration Base

You can do the exploration reports by submitting Exploration Emblems in your exploration base. The more reports you submit, the more you can develop and increase the level of your exploration base.

  1. Access the exploration base and tap on the “Submit Report” button.

  2. At the top you can see the type and number of Exploration Emblems needed to develop the exploration base. Exploration Emblems with extra bonus provide special bonuses.

  3. Exploration Emblems in possession can be viewed at the bottom. Select 5 of them and tap the button at the bottom of the screen to submit the report.

  4. Once the report is submitted, you will gain a base reputation. If you submit Exploration Emblems to an already completed category, you can increase the base reputation but it does not contribute to the base development.

  5. Hunters who have earned the most base reputation will appear on the leaderboard.

Notes:

  • Although your exploration report will display immediately, it will take up 30 minutes to reflect other hunter’s reports.

Base Reputation and Leaderboard

The base reputation are points that can be obtained by submitting exploration reports or slaying monsters in Monster Outbreaks. Hunters who earned the most reputation for a selected exploration base, will appear on the leaderboard. This can be confirmed by going to the exploration base, then tapping on the banner. The names will display on the bottom of the details screen.

The base reputation is accumulated per each exploration base.

Monster Outbreaks

2 days before the end of the beta test, Monster Outbreaks will take place at specified times at exploration bases where specific monsters will appear in large numbers. The target number of slays will increase in accordance with the exploration base level, but note the rewards for meeting the objectives will increase as well.

More details about the target number of slays and obtainable rewards can be found on this page under the “Monster Outbreaks: Goal Rewards” category.

Sign-up Roster (1 week before the Monster Outbreak)

1 week before the Monster Outbreak you can indicate in advance at which exploration base you plan to participate.

  1. Access an exploration base and toggle the button on the banner to the right.

  2. 1 week before the Monster Outbreaks, you will be able to sign up. If you decide to participate in the Monster outbreak at this exploration base, you need to select “Join” and put a check mark at the time you plan to participate, and tap Confirm. You can only select one time period at the sign-up roster.

  3. It is possible to change your exploration base to participate after signing up as many times as you like. By signing up to a different exploration base, the previous sign-up will be automatically overwritten.

  4. On the Outbreak Notice screen, you can check how many other participants signed up for each period.

Monster Outbreak (The day of participation)

When the time for the Monster Outbreak arrives, head to the exploration base you signed up for and achieve the target number of monster slays while cooperating with other hunters.

Notes

  • You can receive the rewards for meeting the objectives when the below requirements are fulfilled:

    • You submitted at least 1 exploration report at the exploration base you signed up for.

    • You slayed at least 1 monster from the outbreak at your exploration base during the testing period.

  • You will receive rewards each time you meet the objectives in each time period. The rewards are provided after the end of each time period.

  • In order to participate in the Monster Outbreak tap on the monsters at your exploration base while the base is within your access range.

  • Only hunters gathered at the specific exploration base can participate in monsters slaying. You can’t match with hunters from other exploration bases.

  • Rewards for meeting the objectives are decided at the start of each period based on the exploration base level.

  • Party function is not available, the hunts will always become group hunts.

  • The target number of slays is counted based on the total number of monster slays by all hunters at the specific exploration base. In the case of group hunts, the number of slays in a single hunt will reflect the number of hunters participating. For example, if a group of 4 hunters slays one monster, it will count as 4 towards the total target number of slays.

  • It is possible to continue hunting the target monsters even after the target number is achieved.

  • During a Monster Outbreak, you can join the next hunt directly from the hunt report after slaying a monster. If you wish to stop hunting tap the button in the bottom lower part of the Lobby screen.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do the rewards change if the exploration base level increases after the Monster Outbreak?

They do not change. Rewards for Monster Outbreaks are decided at the start of each outbreak period.

Is it possible to sign up for a roster during an active Monster Outbreak?

Yes, by tapping the exploration base button in the bottom right corner of the main screen, enter the exploration base screen where you can still sign up.

What happens when an outbreak ends while I’m still during a hunt?

If you don’t successfully hunt a monster within the time limit of a monster outbreak, it does not count towards the slaying goal number.
