Sword & Shield styles are as follows:

Style 1 - Drill Slash

This style specializes in slashes, where tap combos are sword-based attacks without using a shield. Attacks in the second half of the combo can be repeated by continuing to tap, allowing you to follow with an even higher count of attacks!

 

Main actions of the Drill Slash style:

  • Drill Slash Combo

The usual combo of Chop → Lateral Slash → Return Stroke, which then changes to the Spinning Rising Slash → Spinning Reaper → Thrust → Drill Slash.

After the Drill Slash, the combo goes back to a Spinning Rising Slash, which allows you to repeat powerful attacks of the second half of the combo.

  • Plunging Thrust Combo

Backstep → Charged Slash → Scaling Slash, which then changes to Plunging Thrust.

Spinning Rising Slash will follow after the Plunging Thrust, allowing you to repeat the Drill Slash Combo.

Tips:

・The attack right after a perfect evade changes to Spinning Reaper, use it to quickly perform the Drill Slash Combo.

・Both Drill Slash Combo and Plunging Thrust Combo have a high count of attacks so it is easier to stack status ailments.

Style 2 - Perfect Rush

Perfect Rush is a style specialized in focusing on attacking one point as it can be performed after the Backstep. After hitting the last attack of the Perfect Rush in the combo, the combo chain will change into Scaling Slash → Falling Bash.

 

Main actions of the Perfect Rush style:

  • Perfect Rush Combo

Leaping Slash will automatically launch from the Backstep.

Then, it becomes the following combo chain: Leaping Slash → Perfect Rush x3 → Scaling Slash → Falling Bash

  • Perfect Timing Input

Perfect Rush Combo has perfect timing inputs, similarly to Special Skill Perfect Rush Combo. The power increases with each successful input.

  • Sword/Shield Combo

After the usual combo of Chop → Lateral Slash, it changes to Sword/Shield Combo.

The Sword/Shield Combo consists of two sequential attacks: a blunt attack and a slash attack.

 

Tips:

・By utilizing the Sword/Shield Combo, you can actively aim for stuns.

・You can create an opening by stunning a monster and deliver the Perfect Rush Combo to deal significant damage.
