There are a few ways you can manage what others see about you, so that you can be confident in your Peridot experience.
Incognito Mode
Enabling incognito mode allows you to no longer display your Keeper name on Habitats. You will also be unable to receive Hatch-a-Dot requests from Players in Campfire.
Enable Incognito Mode by going to your Backpack > Settings > and select “Incognito Mode”.
Opt Out of Public Friend Requests
Enabling this allows you to no longer receive friend requests from Players who discover your Dots in public.
Enable this feature by going to your Backpack > Settings > and select “Opt Out of Public Friend Requests”.
Removing Friends in Peridot
If you no longer wish to be friends with someone in Peridot, go to your Backpack and select your Journal. Tap on the friends tab and select the friend you wish to remove. Scroll down to the bottom of their profile and select “Remove Friend”.
Removing someone as a friend in Peridot will remove them across all Niantic games.
Control What Others See About You
In game
Players can see the following information about you at a Habitat in the “Nearby Dots” section, or when shown in “Visitor Dots”:
Your Niantic ID/Keeper Name
Your Dot's name
Your Dot's Archetype
Players will have the ability to share your Dot with others which will include your Dot’s photo, Traits, and your Niantic ID.
To opt out of your Niantic ID appearing at Habitats, go to your Backpack > Settings > and select Incognito Mode.
Public
If you visit a Habitat, your Keeper name and Dot's name will be visible to others. To opt out of appearing at Habitats, go to your Backpack > Settings > and select Incognito Mode.
If you post in the Peridot community forum, your posts and keeper name will be visible to others.
