When you play Harry Potter: Wizards Unite for the first time, you will be asked to enter a Code Name and a Ministry ID name. These names serve different purposes and have different requirements.

The Code Name is your unique username for your Harry Potter: Wizards Unite game account. Create this name to distinguish your account from others. We will store your Code Name on our servers, and other wizards will be able to see it (like in the lobby of a Wizarding Challenge or beneath any Dark Detectors you place at Inns). You can view your Code Name in the Help Settings menu also. Use your Code Name if you’re asked to provide a username to customer support.

Your Ministry ID name is the name that appears in the Wizarding name section of your Ministry ID. Support may commonly refer to this name as the Ministry ID name. Enter a first and last name or tap randomize to have them randomly chosen for you. The Ministry ID name is not stored on our servers and is not shared or visible to other players in the game. Support will not ask you for your Ministry ID name.
