Even if you’re able to install and run Pokémon GO on such devices after the release of version 0.189, we’ll no longer be able to provide support if you run into any technical issues.
For an optimal Pokémon GO experience, we recommend using phones with 2GB or more of RAM. If your device is experiencing issues such as frequent crashing or lagging while playing Pokémon GO, we recommend the following troubleshooting steps:
  • Close other open applications while you’re playing Pokémon GO
  • Make sure you’re running the latest operating system (e.g., Android, iOS) available for your device

Note about tablets: Many tablets, including those without built-in data network connectivity (3G or 4G), do not contain built-in GPS sensors. In areas or at events with busy or congested mobile data networks, such as Pokémon GO Fests or Safari Zones, tablets may not maintain a strong enough GPS signal to play Pokémon GO.

Note about OS betas: Our apps may not function on devices running beta versions of iOS or Android.
