This article will guide you through some common solutions to sign-in issues. If you still need further assistance after trying these steps, please click the button at the bottom to contact our support team directly.

Here are some common tips to help with login issues:

  1. Reset my password: Your account password is maintained by your login provider: Google, Facebook, Apple, [Nintendo, the Pokémon Company], or Niantic Kids. Here is information on how to reset your password with each provider: GoogleFacebookApple, [Nintendo, the Pokémon Company], and Niantic Kids. Be sure to check your spam or junk folder if you don't receive the password reset email promptly.

  2. I received an error message: You may receive “failed to log in” or “unable to authenticate” error messages if our servers are experiencing a temporary issue or your network connectivity is poor. Check that your mobile device has a strong network connection, try closing and reopening the [game] app, and then try logging in again. If the issue persists, contact us using the button at the bottom of this page.

  3. I don't remember my email address or login provider: If you do not know which email address or login provider you used to log into the app, we may be able to help recover it.

Visit Account Recovery to get an account reminder.
  4. My child cannot finish creating an account: Children are required to get their parent's approval to create an account and play the game. When your child signed up to play the game, we asked them to share your email address so we could contact you to provide consent. Before they can play, you need to create a Niantic Kids account so you can approve your child’s game and permission requests. Check your email for instructions on how to complete the process.

  5. I don't see the Google, Facebook, or Apple login method: You will only see the Niantic Kids login method if you have selected a child's date of birth when first opening the app. Other login methods (Google, Facebook, etc.) are not available to children. If you have made a mistake, you will need to delete and redownload the app to re-enter your correct date of birth.

  6. My account was suspended: If you've been suspended for breaking the Niantic Terms of Service (ToS), please get in touch with our support team by using this form and selecting “Ban Appeal” from the issue type dropdown.
