Heavy Bowgun styles are as follows:

Style 1 - Guard Reload

In this style, Reload is changed to Guard Reload, and long press is changed to Guard, allowing you to guard while reloading and focus on the defense.

 

Main actions of the Guard Reload style:

  • Guard

Long press to perform the Guard.

When successful, 1 ammo during the reload will be boosted once.



  • Guard Reload

Tap when your ammo is empty, or flick down during a guard, to reload half of your max ammo capacity.

Guard Reload action gives you a guard timeframe during which you are able to reload the ammo while blocking attacks from monsters.
During this timeframe, if you receive a monster’s attack, the ammo will be loaded to maximum while being boosted once.

※ In the case the monster’s attack results in a far knockback, the heavy bowgun will not reload even if successfully guarded.



  • Ammo Boost

When successfully performing a guard or Guard Reload, your ammo’s power will be boosted.

※Your ammo can be boosted up to a max of 2 times

Boosted ammo increases damage, Special Gauge fill rate, and status accumulation value.

 

  • Perfect Evade

In this style, even if you successfully perform a perfect evade, the ammo will not be boosted.



Tips

・Utilize the Guard skill in order to guard without worrying about the knockback from monsters’ attacks and easily hunt with the boosted ammo.



Style 2 - Crouching Shot

This style excels in offense by allowing you to fire more ammo.

 

Main actions of the Crouching Shot style:

  • Crouching Shot

Long press is changed into Crouching Shot.

Crouching Shot lets you fire beyond your max ammo capacity.

If you stop shooting midway, the loaded ammo will be consumed according to the number of shots fired.

The number of shots and rate of fire depend on the type of ammo used when stopping midway.

In this style, recoil is fixed, regardless of the type of ammo.

 

  • Guard

You cannot guard in this style.

 

  • Perfect Evade

When successfully performing a perfect evade, although you can boost your ammo, you cannot reload it.

You can transition right away to Crouching Shot after the perfect evade.

※Please note if you transition from a perfect evade into crouching while your ammo is empty, you can fire only a single shot.

 

Tips:

・You cannot evade while crouching, leaving you vulnerable, therefore it is important to time your crouching with the openings in monsters’ attacks.
