Hammer styles are as follows:
Style 1 - Water Strike
This style combines Water Strikes, which can negate monster’s attacks, with the Spinning Bludgeon attack, which gains power the more it spins, overwhelming the monster with the number of hits.
Long-press → Flick down becomes Water Strike, and the 3rd charge level is changed to Spinning Bludgeon
Main actions of the Water Strike style:
Water Strike
Long press → Flick down to perform Water Strike.
If activated in sync with the monster's attack, that attack can be negated. When Water Strike negates the monster’s attack, you can tap to follow up with Upswing.
If you long press after Upswing and hold until the 3rd charge level, you will further follow up with Spinning Bludgeon.
※Since Water Strike is performed after the Long press → Flick down sequence, it becomes impossible to evade backwards while long pressing.
Spinning Bludgeon
The 3rd charge level attack is changed to Spinning Bludgeon.
If you tap during Spinning Bludgeon, the next action becomes a finisher.
There are 3 types of finishers depending on when you tap:
1st spin: Spinning Side Smash
2nd spin: Spinning Follow-up
3rd spin: Spinning Strong Upswing
※The maximum number of spins is 20, and the more you spin, the more powerful attacks or finishers you can deliver while spinning.
If you Long-press → Flick down during Spinning Bludgeon, you can chain into Water Strike as well.
Tips:
・Since it’s possible to follow up from Spinning Bludgeon to Water Strike, you can easily try out Spinning Bludgeon.
・During Spinning Bludgeon, when a monster shows an opening, you can follow up with a powerful finisher, so the active use of the Spinning Bludgeon is highly effective.
Style 2 - Impact Crater
This is a one-hit-knockout style where you swing your hammer upward with such force that you leap high into the air and deliver a powerful strike called the “Impact Crater”.
Main actions of the Impact Crater style:
Impact Crater
The 3rd charge level attack is changed into Charged Upswing.
After performing either the Upswing that is the 3rd step of the tap combo, or the 3rd level charge Charged Upswing, you launch into the air and activate Impact Crater.
※Once you enter Impact Crater, you cannot cancel it.
※It cannot be activated from the Upswing after a Perfect Evade, nor the 2nd level charge Charged Upswing.
Tips:
・Since Impact Crater is derived from either a powerful Upswing or Charged Upswing, you can expect a burst of high damage. However, since it leaves you vulnerable for a long time, it’s crucial to read the monster’s behavior.
