Riftborne monsters are monsters affected by the abnormal rifts and are much more formidable opponents than their normal counterparts. They appear on the field only when 8★ monsters are unlocked.

The following monsters will appear as riftborne monsters at the start of Season 6:

  • Barroth

  • Tobi-Kadachi

  • Jyuratodus

  • Anjanath

  • Rathian

  • Barioth

Characteristics of Riftborne Monsters

  • In each hunt, one part of a monster will randomly become a special part. Riftborne monsters have each resistance increased and only by breaking the special part can they be weakened.

A）In order for 8★ monsters to appear in the field, you need to clear at least 1 Urgent Quest at the end of the Season Story in which 7★ monsters appear.

 

Q）Will the riftborne monsters appear on the field after lowering Urgent Quests difficulty?

A）If 8★ monsters are already unlocked, the riftborne monsters will still appear.

 

Q）Can riftborne monsters be marked with paintballs?

A）Yes, marking them is possible.

 

Q）Can riftborne monsters be marked with palico paintballs?

A）Yes, marking them is possible.

 

Q）Can riftborne monsters be tracked in Monster Tracker?

A）As of 2025/06/19 it is not possible.

 

Q）Can riftborne monsters appear in dimensional links?

A）Yes, they can.

 

Q)  If, for example, I need to clear the “Slay Barroth” mission, does the Riftborne Barroth count toward it as well?

A）Yes, it does count.
