What is a Friend Quest?

Friend Quests are weekly quests that you can progress together with friends, regardless of their distance from you. Up to 4 hunters can participate in a single Friend Quest. 

You may take part in one Friend Quest of your choosing per week. Upon completing your chosen Friend Quest, you may repeat that same quest up to 5 times during the week of its completion.

  • Friend Quest is a feature unlocked at Hunter Rank 12 

  • Up to 4 players can join one quest every week (The list resets on Thursday at UTC 0:00) 

  • There are 3 different difficulties (Easy, Medium, Hard). Rewards vary between quests.

 

How to join Friend Quest

  1. Tap Quest

  2. Tap the Friends tab

  3. Select a quest from the Friend Quests list. You may have two options to participate in Friend Quest

    1. Start a Quest

      1. Start a new Friend quest by yourself 

    2. Join A Quest

      1. Join one of the Friend’s quests that have already started

  1. Confirm the pop-up message and tap Join

 

  • If you wish to play a Friend Quest with your friends, it is necessary for one person to start a quest and then for the other person to join. Be careful that if you and all your friends start quests on their own, you cannot play together until the quests reset.

  • Please note you will not be able to leave the friend quest until you complete it or the week resets. After joining, only the selected friend quest will appear on the list.

  • Please note the Friend Quests participants may include hunters who are friends of your friends, even if you are not friends with them directly. For more information, please see the Information Shared with Others section.

 

How to invite friends

  1. After starting or joining a Friend Quest, go to Quest > Friends

  2. On the active Friend Quest window tap Ask friends to join

  3. Select friends you wish to send an invite to and tap Send Invite

  4. Tap Send Invite on the confirmation window

Please note you can only send an invitation once a day for a Friend Quest.

 

How to check the progress

  1. Tap Quest

  2. Tap the friend tab

  3. Tap the Details button on the Friend Quest card

 

On the displayed screen you can check not only the quest progress and friends' information, but also who contributed the most. Tap on the hunter’s avatar to display more details about them. You can still see the details screen after finishing the friend quest.

Repeating the completed quest

Friend Quests can be repeated 5 times. The rewards are obtained per lap. If you join halfway through the quest, you will only get rewards for the lap you joined. The lap number is displayed on the quest card. Every time you complete the quest, a dialog window will appear to inform you how many laps you have completed. After completing the final lap, you will see a red color text informing you that you have reached the maximum number of times you can repeat the quest.

Please note that if you clear a lap but you do not accept the rewards, any further progress will not be counted toward the quest. 

Milestones

When players hit a milestone on a Friend Quest, a dialog screen will appear informing them about it. The milestones are 30%, 50%, and 80% progress of the quest. If you are offline, a push notification will be sent informing you about hitting a milestone.

Frequently Asked Questions

I don’t see the option to join Friend Quest

There are several possible reasons why you don’t see Friend Quest

 

  • You can join Friend Quest from the Friend Quest tab after reaching Hunter Rank 12. 

  • If you don’t have a friend, you need to have a friend first. See details about how to add friends in this article.

 

What if someone joins but doesn’t make any contribution?

If you don’t contribute, you will not be able to get any rewards. When the quest is finished, you will see a message saying “You did not contribute to this round of the Friend Quest, so you will not receive any rewards”.

 

What if I block/remove a particular friend while playing a friend quest together?

Even if you remove a friend from your friend list while two of you participate in an active friend quest, the blocked/removed friend is not removed from the friend quest. Only after the quest ends, the friend is removed from it.

 

If all the members of a friend quest contributed to it simultaneously, in what order will they be counted in contributions?

They will be counted in the order of who opens the hunt report first.

Example: If the quest “Slay large monster” can be accomplished with only one monster remaining, and you and hunters who are participating in the same Friend Quest join a group hunt and succeed, the hunter who accessed the hunt report first will be counted as the one who contributed to the quest.

 

(After Release) Why can’t I invite some of my friends to the friend quest from my Friend List?

Players can only join one quest. If your friends from your list already participate in a friend quest, a message will appear saying “You have no friend quests to join”.

 

I contributed the most but the counter didn’t increase on my guild card.

The Friend Quest Top Contributor counter on a guild card is updated after the Friend Quest is over. After the quest has been reset on Thursday, the counter should increase and be visible to your friends.
