Portals are physical points of interest in the real world and often manifest themselves as public art such as statues and monuments, unique architecture, outdoor murals, historic buildings, and other displays of human achievement.

Portals are places where human creativity and ingenuity is expressed and where unexplained energy phenomena emanates. Move about in the real world or travel to new locales to search for Portals.

If there are no Portals in your immediate area, your Scanner will vector you to the nearest Portals. The arrow in the center of the screen represents your location and as you move, you’ll see your location move on your screen. Once you start moving in the real world, you’ll be able to find Portals and collect XM.
