Our goal is to provide our players with a fair, fun, and legitimate gaming experience. We maintain strict policies against cheating and actively remove players that do not respect the rules the rest of the community follows.

Your account may have been terminated for violating the Ingress Terms of Service and Ingress Community Guidelines; which includes, but is not limited to -
  • Using modified or unofficial software
  • Using tools or techniques to alter or falsify your location
  • Selling or trading accounts

If you believe your account was terminated in error, you may appeal the termination.

Please note that we won’t be able to comment on the specifics of our internal mechanisms that flagged your account. However, be assured that we investigate every appeal in great detail and will post an update to your ticket once the investigation is complete.

Note: If you haven’t received a termination email from us, it’s possible that your account was never banned, and you’re experiencing login issues with the Scanner. Please reach out to us for further assistance to resolve your issue.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why won’t NIA Ops tell me exactly what I did wrong?

It’s our policy not to publicly discuss the specifics of any individual incident. For obvious reasons, we also do not comment on the specific internal mechanisms which indicate cheating.

Common reasons for suspension include, but are not limited to, falsifying your location and/or accessing Ingress clients or backends in an unauthorized manner including through the use of third party software.

Why are you suspending Agents for using unofficial Ingress software?

Altered or customized client software can be used to manipulate the state of the game in an unfair way and indirectly cause harm to other players. We have seen people continuously attempt many types of attacks against our systems. For Ingress to remain fun, it has to be played fairly.

How many reports are required to ban an Agent?

There is a misconception that we ban Agents based on the volume of reports received alone; this is not the case. An Agent being reported by several unique Agents may lead to a faster investigation, although we only take action after identifying and confirming internal proof of inappropriate activity.

Please note, the same person submitting multiple reports of an Agent does not expedite their investigation.

Who reported me?

It's our policy to not reveal the sources of our reports, to protect other Agents’ privacy.
