Wayfarer is a community mapping program that allows you to nominate new Wayspots in your community, review others’ nominations, and contribute information or edits to existing Wayspots to help the Niantic map evolve in tandem with the real world. We provide the following tools to help you control your Wayfarer experience.

Controlling What Others See About Me

Codename Display for Wayspot Submissions

Toggling “Off” your Codename Display allows you to no longer display your codename on accepted Wayspot photos in Pokémon GO and Wayfarer.

Navigating to this setting can be done in the following way:

  • Log into your Wayfarer account at wayfarer.nianticlabs.com. Make sure you are using the same credentials as the Niantic game linked to your Wayfarer account

  • On the left menu, click on Settings

  • Tap Codename Display for Wayspot Submissions

  • Toggle the setting on/off. When the setting is turned on (orange), that means your Codename will be displayed. When the setting is turned Off (gray), your Codename will not be displayed.
