Before we can create a Niantic Kids account for a child, we’re required by law to get consent from the child’s parent. We can't just take you at your word - the law requires “verified parental consent”, which means that we need to verify your identity before you can give consent for your child.
One method for verifying your identity uses your name, date of birth, mailing address, and the last 4 digits of your social security number to verify against government records.
Your name, date of birth, mailing address, and social security number will NOT be shared with Niantic. This process is handled by SuperAwesome and Veratad Technologies, LLC, in accordance with their own Privacy Policies. This information is collected solely to verify your identity and will NOT be stored or used for any other purpose after the initial check.
Alternatively, you can verify your identity by credit card. Learn more.
