Skills refer to special effects granted to certain pieces of equipment.

Skills have a variety of effects such as increasing attack and defense power and evasion distance.

Weapons and Armor are effective when equipped, and choosing the right combination of skills can greatly improve hunting efficiency. Skills and their unlock grades for each equipment can be confirmed on the Equipment Details screen. Skills have levels, and the higher the level, the greater the effect they will have.

*Some Grades of armor pieces and some weapons have no skills.

Equipment and Skill

Some weapons and armor have Skills that can be unlocked when overgraded to a certain Grade.

Skill Names and Effects

Under Equipment skill in Equipment Details screen and Status, you can tap the Skill icon to show the description of the Skill and how many Levels there are.

Tap the "Status" in the upper-right corner of Equipment to check your total Skill level.

Kushala Frostwind

Artillery

*Power Element Phial attacks of the Charge Blades are not affected by this Skill.

Critical Boost

Increases the damage multiplier of critical hits.

Notes: 

  • Affinity refers to the overall probability of a critical hit occurring. When the Affinity is positive, there is a higher chance of dealing significantly increased damage during attacks. When the Affinity is negative, there is a higher chance of dealing significantly reduced damage during attacks. Affinity can be increased through skills such as "Critical Eye" and "Weakness Exploit." The higher the absolute value of Affinity, the more likely a critical hit will occur. The maximum affinity is 100%, and the minimum is -100%.
  • As of June 2024, the max Skill Level is Lv1 to Lv5, with no greater effects demonstrated when that Skill Level is exceeded.

  • Elemental Attack: When the elemental value of an elemental weapon is increased, it enhances the attack power against monsters weak to that element.

  • Lock On: Locking on to specific parts of the monster makes it easier to land attacks on those parts. Lock on is not available while the Gyro is on.

How to use the Lock on toggle button

  1. Tap the Lock on button at the bottom right of the Hunting Screen.

  2. Targets that can be locked onto are displayed on monster parts.

  3. When you tap the part you want to lock on, that part will be locked on and the target will turn red.

  4. To release the Lock on, tap the Lock on button again.
