Take time to consider the impacts of the Code Name you choose. You are identified in the game by this Code Name. Unlike many other games, you may meet the people you play with in real life. Make smart choices about how you choose to reveal your own identity (for example, do not use your real name as your Code Name and avoid posting your Code Name in connection with your real name). Here are a few things to consider before selecting your Code Name.
Consider your Privacy
Keep in mind that players within a certain range of your location will be able to see your Code Name in certain areas on the Map. Your Code Name appears on Dark Detectors you place onto Amplifiers at nearby Inns. If your Dark Detector is active, players around the Inn can see your Code Name if they go inside the Inn and place their Dark Detectors onto the Amplifier.
In addition, your Code Name will appear at Fortresses. When you join a lobby of a Wizarding Challenge, everyone inside the same lobby as you will be able to see your Code Name and Profession. Once the Challenge begins, your Code Name remains visible to your Teammates. Again, this means that someone physically within range of the Fortress may be able to see your Code Name.
Avoid something that others might find offensive
We want all players to feel welcome playing our games. Be sure to choose an appropriate Code Name that does not reference anything which others may find offensive. That means avoiding profanity, hate speech, references to violence, drug use, or sexuality.
