Become an Auror, Magizoologist, or Professor in Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. Your Profession influences your combat proficiency in Wizarding Challenges, and each has an affinity advantage against certain Foes, as well as an affinity disadvantage against other Foes. For example, Professors deal additional damage to Curiosities, like Pixies, but sustain more damage when battling against Dark Forces, like Death Eaters.
You can increase your knowledge of each Profession and switch at any time. The progress you make with one of the Professions won’t carry over; however, you retain its Expertise if you switch back.
Expertise is a summary of your combat effectiveness in your Profession. It displays information on stat improvements and abilities you acquire by completing Lessons.
Use Scrolls, Spell Books, and Restricted Section Books on Lessons to increase and add to your Expertise. Receive Scrolls from Treasure Trunks you get when you rank up an Explorations Registry Family. Receive Spell Books from Treasure Trunks you get when you rank up a Challenges Registry Family. Receive Restricted Section Books when you complete time-limited tasks that are available during a special event.
Different Lessons will raise stats or give you new abilities. These include Strategic Spells you can use on the Arena Map, bonus damage against certain Foes and bonus modifiers in conditional situations. In order to gain access to other Lessons, you must upgrade the previous node by exchanging Scrolls, Spell Books, Restricted Section Books, or any combination of these resources.
Your Profession Grade shows the progress you’ve made in each Profession and appears at the top of the Professions page. The grade bar displays the amount of Profession Grade XP you have as well as the Grade XP needed to rank up to the next grade. The Profession shield to the left of the bar displays the Profession’s current grade. Complete upgrades in Lessons to receive Profession Grade XP. Upgrades that require more Scrolls, Spell Books, or Restricted Section Books will generally yield more XP.
As you develop into your Profession, you will raise your Profession Grade rank and unlock new Lesson Books. Lesson Books contain additional Profession upgrades and new Profession abilities you can use in Wizarding Challenges. Locked Lesson Books appear with a padlock icon, and the Profession Grade requirement to unlock the next Lesson Book is shown below its headline.
