Adventure Sync isn’t tracking my fitness progress
Enable location services
Make sure your device’s location permissions are set to always allow Harry Potter: Wizards Unite to access your location even while the app is closed. Devices without location settings or GPS will not be able to use Adventure Sync.
From your phone's Settings, locate Harry Potter: Wizards Unite to access the app's info:
Note: The option to always allow location access is not available to phones with Android 9 or below. Location access is set automatically when you give permission to Harry Potter: Wizards Unite
From the Settings app, locate Harry Potter: Wizards Unite:
Connect the Google Fit or Apple Health app
The Harry Potter: Wizards Unite app must be connected to either Google Fit or Apple Health in order to track your distance walked. Open the Google Fit or Apple Health app to ensure that your device is properly recording your fitness activity and that the Harry Potter: Wizards Unite app is connected:
Android devices signed in with Google will get a prompt to allow permissions through Google services. Android devices signed in with Facebook will get a prompt to sign into a Google account to enable permissions through Google services.
From the Settings app, scroll down to find your Health app info:
Adventure Sync is only crediting me with a portion of my distance
The game may not always show the most up-to-date distance you walked. Players can expect a delay of up to several hours for the Harry Potter: Wizards Unite app to sync with Apple Health or Google Fit and accurately track your activity. Restarting the game may help push your fitness data and expedite this process.
Your phone’s battery saver modes can disable the sensors needed for Adventure Sync and may interfere with the functionality of this feature. Make sure you disable battery-saving modes while using Adventure Sync.
Google Fit app only: Power-saving settings may interfere with Adventure Sync. Ensure this Google Fit app setting is disabled.
Fitness data that is manually entered into Apple Health or Google Fit will not count towards your Adventure Sync progress.
Harry Potter: Wizards Unite keeps asking for location permissions
You may be asked to allow location permissions for Harry Potter: Wizards Unite every time you open the app until you always allow location permissions. The first time you install the app, get a new device, or reinstall the app, you will see the following prompt:
Select “Turn on Adventure Sync” then follow the instructions on the following screen to always allow location permissions.
Additional iOS notifications while using Adventure Sync
Scenario 1: After closing the app, iOS will trigger another prompt to confirm your location settings after some time.
Select “Change to Always Allow” to ensure Adventure Sync can accurately track your distance walked even when the app isn’t opened
Scenario 2: iOS may send additional prompts even after selecting “Change to Always Allow.” This prompt is a reminder that the Harry Potter: Wizards Unite app is accessing your location.
Select “Always Allow” to continue using Adventure Sync even when the Harry Potter: Wizards Unite app isn’t opened.
How do I disable Adventure Sync?
To disable Adventure Sync from the app:
Tap the Suitcase
Tap the Settings button in the top left corner
Toggle the ‘Adventure Sync’ setting to off
Note: For devices with Android 10, Adventure Sync must be disabled via Harry Potter: Wizards Unite's in-game settings. Disabling Activity Recognition via the Android OS won’t fully disable Adventure Sync.
